RLE International are urgently looking for a Glazing Engineer to support a new and exciting in-house project. Excellent remuneration Position Description: Manage the design, integration, and delivery of optical glazing for Autonomous Driving system. The candidate will be responsible for the ownership of the glass panels that cover the AD system components allowing them to have a cleanable surface. Design leading experience required for the concept to launch. Liaison with the program team, suppliers, manufacturing and purchasing, etc. Manage component validation program including the supply of components and arrangement of rig and vehicle tests. Project management, ability to use appropriate quality tools and techniques e.g. DFMEA, DVP, Requirements etc. PC skills: MS Office, TeamCenter, Vismockup. Experience in relevant components, systems, materials and production processes used in the manufacture of the components. Experience in product change management systems and release processes. Skills Required: It is essential that the individual has worked in a glazing engineering role, with a high-level knowledge of such commodities and has experience and understanding of DFM / tooling needs. Excellent communication skills: The ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives and resolve issues is essential. High Drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. Experience Required: Experience in projects from Concept to Job 1 including launch support Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure Willing to travel when required to support supplier visits and build activities Good leadership and influencing skills The ability to manage complex technical issues is essential to balance the often conflicting needs of the business, within project timing constraints A good level of people development and team management skill or experience Both verbal and written communication skills are important to report technical issues across all levels, and these should be combined with a confident attitude The candidate must have a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines Experience Preferred: Previous experience of working with Autonomous Driving Systems integration is desirable Preferably a degree in an Engineering subject or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years experience of working in a similar role within the automotive or related industry, with a demonstrable track record of delivery.
