Southbrook School Salary: L25 - L31 The Governing Board of Southbrook School is seeking to appoint an exceptional leader for this special school situated in the historic city of Exeter, starting in January 2023. Southbrook admits most of its pupils at the start of Year 7, all of whom have varied complex needs and abilities including moderate or severe learning difficulties, and communication and interaction difficulties. Many also have autism, sensory impairments and/or physical disabilities. All achieve an impressive range of external accreditations including Entry Level, Functional Skills, Vocational qualifications and GCSEs as appropriate to their abilities and talents. An excellent team of teaching and support staff is dedicated to ensuring that, through an innovative and relevant curriculum, every pupil has the opportunity to learn, and be the best they can be. The school has a strong ethos of respect for all pupils and staff, where diversity, equality and individuality are celebrated and encouraged. The successful candidate will be an outstanding strategic leader, embracing the vision, values and ethos of Southbrook School and will lead the team to its next stage of development. You are already experienced at senior level with a record of success in a special educational needs setting. You will bring in-depth knowledge and experience in the special needs sector, with a track record of successful change management and partnership working, and extensive staff development experience and expertise. You will also have an in-depth knowledge of financial management in a school environment. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role requires a DBS disclosure.
