3rd Line Support Engineer £55-65K plus extensive benefits package London Position summary: Our client is the provider of third line technical support for a market-leading media newsroom computer solution and is looking for a 3rd Line Support Engineer. The media application being supported offers end-to-end solutions for modern news workflows to both public and private broadcasters in TV, radio and online environments. Job role and responsibilities: This is a shift-based role based on site in London. You will be responsible for: Day-to-day support, ensuring that service is delivered to the SLAs and metrics defined in the contract Assuming ownership of issues through to resolution, carrying out the diagnosis and solving of technical issues, and escalating to the fourth line where necessary Administering virtual servers and supporting production usage of software. This will include carrying out routine maintenance work as agreed and providing guidance to second line support staff in performing upgrades and configuration changes Forming great relationships with the customers second and third line support teams; identifying potential system failures and weaknesses, and proactively advising on remedial action Ensuring systems are properly monitored, supported and maintained where required About You: To be successful in this role, you will be a confident Application or 3rd Line Support Engineer with proven experience of working in an in a Media / Newsroom environment with strict SLA s. The team works on site to a shift pattern, and you must be comfortable with weekly rotations of early (6am 2pm), mid (9-5), and late (12- 8pm). Other requirements for this role include: Extensive knowledge of a Microsoft Windows Server Environment and a good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server with experience of supporting applications in an Enterprise Microsoft Windows environment Knowledge of Server & Storage technologies including VMWare / Hyper-V, Active Directory, SAN / NAS, TCP / IP Experience of administration and configuration of clustering and virtualisation technology (VMware/Hyper-V) and knowledge of ITIL framework (with a solid understanding of Incident, Problem, Change) On site client facing experience with effective communication and problem-solving skills leading to consistently delivering a professional service Ability to work effectively in a dispersed and varied team, showing evidence of dealing with complex technical issues and dealing with multiple priorities Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills Benefits: This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that is highly regarded within the industry, a Top 100 employer and voted as one of the best places to work in the UK.
