Position: Quality Health & Safety Manager Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum Location: Royston, Herts Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week) Our Client: Our client is an award winning, family run business specialising in the manufacturing sector and are looking for an experienced Quality Health & Safety Manager to join their team at their production facility. The Job Role: To maintain the culture of Continuous Improvement and compliance with external regulatory requirements, whilst ensuring a safe working environment for all by meeting legal responsibilities and adherence to the Company Health & Safety policy. Role responsibilities include: Ensure the QMS conforms to the requirements of all standards and accreditations adopted by the Company, promoting the Continuous Improvement culture Establish and maintain policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with the Company Health & Safety policy, and legal requirements Foster and develop the Company approach to environmental aspects with regard to waste production, disposal and recycling Ensure robust and effective compliance controls in the Company Collaborate with other departments to create and maintain a compliance culture Lead and facilitate customer complaint investigations, ensure corrective and preventative action is taken to permanently resolve Develop and manage the approach to internal non-conformance investigations, internal audits, and supplier audits including the assessment and appraisal of key (critical to quality) suppliers Maintain, develop and meet KPI s targeted at improving Company performance Enable and sup port compliance to additional quality standards adopted in pursuance of the Company s aims and objectives Provide guidance and support to the Company as required Conduct internal audits of the Quality, Health & Safety and environmental business systems Provide relevant Health & Safety, Hygiene and GMP training to employees Line management responsibility for Compliance Officer role Key requirements: Devise and implement effective strategies for quality improvement in production Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) An effective team player and able to work on own initiative Contribute towards process improvement within regulatory and legal frameworks Apply an analytical and methodical approach to tasks, with excellent attention to detail A proficient user of MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc) Experience of Compliance, Quality and Health & Safety software advantageous Experience required: NEBOSH qualification, Quality management qualification or HNC/degree qualified in relevant subjects Experience of ISO 9001, PS 9000 and BRC standards Excellent problem solving skills Investigation experience, including root cause analysis Label or print experience required Manufacturing, in particular FMCG, experience essential Experience of working in SME s Hazard & Risk Management (HACCP, HARM, HARA) experience or training advantageous Thank you for your interest in this vacancy, which is being advertised by Smart10 Recruitment Group, who are acting as an employment agency / business.
